SGA 3x15 - The Game
Dec. 19th, 2006 11:07 pmThey are playing a game together. At NIGHT. In their spare time and between missions. TOGETHER. This is canon acknowledgement that they spend almost every free minute together. My brain has left the building.
Stop it. STOP IT NOW MY HEART CAN’T TAKE IT YOU CANNOT THROW OUT STUFF LIKE THE ABOVE AND PUT JOHN IN JEANS IN THE SAME EPISODE: YOU CANNOT!!
Huh. That blonde chick isn’t annoying. That’s a first.
Boy, those pictures of Rodney on the walls are just scary.
Oh, John is not pleased. And I sit here cackling like a fiend.
Oh, Ronon. You don’t say a lot, but your reaction shots are priceless.
Are Zelenka and Lorne really discussing gardening? OMG. Show. My heart. My HEART.
Wow. Boys, you really fucked up big time, didn’t you? And, man, Elizabeth, did you grow a spine when I wasn’t watching? Great!
Oh man. Elizabeth will have heads rolling before lunchtime. (And, man, yay for finally using her, and, even though her attempt at negotiating was very flawed, we finally were shown that aspect of her persona, too, and that alone is reason enough to love the episode. In an odd way, yes, it's about John and Rodney playing and its consequences, but to me, Elizabeth really shines in this episode)
John, you stupid arse, don’t tell me you left your guy in the game room? Alone?
All right, so, the ending was a little rushed as usual, but, hey, thinky episode.
End anything that ends on John and Rodney playing chess and John winning and being cheeky/flirty about it cannot be bad.
In fact, I really am most surprised at Nola - strong character, interesting and not one-dimensional and weak. Is that only because a woman was part of the writing team? If so - god, please, get more female writers aboard.

Date: 2006-12-21 03:30 pm (UTC)Hm, yes resemblance, a little. Though, despite being quieter, I thought she was more willowy, almost androgyn, whereas Sam is a real flesh and blood woman. Curvy. Nola has no curves. But I like curves. That doesn't mean I dislike Nola, though. She is someone whom I would love to see Atlantis stay in negotiation with - smart, level-headed, emotional but not a basket-case of weepiness ... Really a fascinating character.
