So, let's talk about 1.23, shall we?

First of all, the case. Okay, the usual meh. What would have been realy interesting would have been why the Sarin was brought to Hawaii in the first place. And how the hell the lady got her hands on it. But, we shall let that go for the moments of awesome, which would be the following:

Steve freaking out when Danny collapsed.

Steve picking up Grace and offering to have her stay with him.

Danny's "I've got everything I need right here with me." When both Grace and Steve are in the room. No, I refuse to think that this was only directed at Gracie. Big part, yes, but not 100 % just her.

Kamekona bringing fried chicken. Oh, big guy!

Also, let me confess my love for Chin-too-fucking-noble-for-his-own-good Ho Kelly (so glad he's fully cleared now) and Kono-kick-ass Kalakaua. The rubbish-bin lid!

The hug. Which kind of broke me a little, because if Danny really thinks he can patch things up with Rachel, then Steve is going to be side-lined, and you could tell from the hug that Steve's was a lot tighter, more like an embrace, almost a desperate "thank God you're safe" (did you see how hard he gripped Danny's shoulders? that, right there, was despair mixed with relief), while Danny was slapping his back and making it more of a comical thing. I have a feeling Danny's not quite there as much as Steve is. I do hope that there'll be a chance for them to figure this out.

I doubt it would be a good idea for Danny to get back with Rachel. Nothing's changed, right? He's still a cop, he still puts his life on the line, he's still not Mr Super-wealthy. I would prefer it if they didn't get back together as a couple, but as really, really good friends. I like that they're re-inventing their relationship, but it's a road to disaster if they decide to get back together because they'd just break their necks over the same problems again.

But, you know what I'm kind of afraid of now? Since they're doing so well now, I'm almost scared that Rachel might get killed sometime down the road. That would basically be the only chance to keep Danny on the island, correct? If Rachel decides to move away from Hawaii with Gracie, Danny's gone. So, what's the only chance they'll stay? Either Rachel reconciling with Stan, or her getting killed. I do have to say I'd prefer option number 1.

But Rachel brings me back to Steve. Yes, the silent conversation in the hospital. There was reluctant amusement there, but also, Steve's face just fell when he saw Rachel there. Like he was trying so hard to be happy for Danny, but ultimately feeling completely gutted.

And then the "When were you gonna tell me?". Which, you know? There was a tone to that question. And a look. Don't hurt Steve, Danny. I really love you, but don't give Steve sad puppy eyes.
