Sherlock 3.03
Jan. 13th, 2014 05:53 amTheories we came up with last night:
Moriarty is the third Holmes brother.
Mycroft is behind Moriarty's timely "reappearance".
Janine was in on Sherlock's plan to use her to get to Magnussen. She faked the relationship just as much as Sherlock did. What she did not expect, however, was for Mary to have used her in the first place.
More as I remember them (and after I have worked my break-less nine hour shift from hell). I think a couple got lost in an Hard Cider buzz, because:

Date: 2014-01-13 10:41 pm (UTC)I juct cannot describe how happy I am that, while parts of this episode killed me, it wasn't the utter heartbreak of the Reichenbach Falls, no, it ended on a hopeful not, with a John Watson who looked determined and, dare I say, happy?
Now, of course, I'm wondering if we'll ever see Baby Watson. I can't see them truly integrating it. Though it would be cool.

Date: 2014-01-13 10:46 pm (UTC)I'm concerned that they're going to go the 'death by childbirth' route and kill mom and baby, but what I'm hoping is that they'll have her vanish instead, take the baby and go, though they might also do a kidnap or kidnap/kill scenario, which would be bad. If Mary decided she better get out because, I don't know, Jim? and she leaves with the baby (and then we could see them again years down the line) I could handle that. I'm worried, though, since she dies in canon.

Date: 2014-01-14 02:08 pm (UTC)I cold even see John sending her off, or Mycroft helping him have her disappear to protect her. Because with a past like hers, chances are that things will come up again and since we already had John almost dying, and Sherlock faking his death, the next logical conclusion would be to have something happen to Mary (Or Mycroft. Which, ouch. For some reason, that idea pains me.)
You're right, she dies in the books, but I sincerely hope that they will not go that route. I don't want her to lose the baby, either.
Say, one thing I keep wondering about: When Magnussen flicks John's face, he mentions that Janine managed to keep her eyes open once. Now I wonder what he had on her?

Date: 2014-01-14 05:29 pm (UTC)I like your idea of them sending her away rather than her vasnishing on her own and John not knowing where she's gone. Then they could bring her back any time, that would be nice. They might not think that's dramatic enough, though; they went for so much melodrama this series that I'm afraid to think where they might go from here. (People were thinking that they were going to kill Mycroft this series based on the trailers, but I didn't think so--as if Mark would ever give up this part! *g*)
I wonder about Janine, too; some people are saying they think she's Jim's sister. I think that's a stretch, just because she's Irish, but you never know.
