Well done, boys.

And I do mean that without any hint of sarcasm.
Good game. Fair game. In the end, it was just coincidence.

There is always the third place. In the beginning, nobody ever really thought our team would make it past the quarters. Now we're in the
semi-finals and still have the chance for an excellent third place.

I'm hellish proud of our boys. No matter what.

eta: Plus, to quote xandra73: Things I'm grateful to the German team for: We learned to wave the flag and singing the national anthem without guilt in our hearts. We learned to be proud to be German.

Even I have two small stripes of German colours on the outside mirrors of my car. And I don't feel any guilt about it, the way I still would have done a year ago. It feels good to be German, damn it. Thanks for that, too, boys.

They gave it a good run. Like our Oilers, they came up a little short. Too bad. It would've been nice to see the home team in the finals.

I should probably admit that I was cheering Italy on, but Germany's performance over the whole tournament has just got better and better, and up to the very end the game was so even. (hey, at least you didn't go out because of humiliating suckiness like England did!)
