Everyone on my flist who is even marginally interested in how homosexuality is dealt with in public life should go read [livejournal.com profile] shadesofbrixton's post on how a garden supply store feels the need to educate its customers.

Christian ideals, my ass. You know, I am Christian. I studied Christian Theology for a while. But this is fucking well not in the Bible.

The whole thing makes me sick inside. That a group of people supposedly pushing the ideals of hope, forgiveness and acceptance can me so full of hate and anger. It's always bugged me, so much that I couldn't handle going to church anymore.

Reading though it, how he says that they are pushing the gay agenda, it's all so old to me now. And how he's using the "Adam And Steve" shit that I just hate so much. It's the same flawed arguments over and over. God says it's wrong, it's unnatural, it's weird, it's wrong. Yet they are okay with flying people out to another place to blast the hell out of the locals in the name of god. They are happy to have a president who is a asshole but has learned to say all the right stuff. And they are okay with taking away the civil rights of people who do not fit the norm.

There is no fucking agenda. There is just people. Different people. Why is it so hard to be who you are and not who people what you do be? Tollerant and forgiving my ass.

I saw this elsewhere as well and it is still just as repugnant as before. The fact that the fuckwit felt that he had to share his opinions with everyone on his mailing list is doubly as offensive and something that makes me foam at the mouth, having been cornered by similar types quite often. I won't reply to him because I don't think I can manage to be polite or reasoned at the moment. That sort of attitude makes me want to either hit things or go roll in slash for awhile, and quite possibly do deviant acts on the front lawn with gardening implements and a pine cone. Just because I can.

Christian ideals my arse. Some people need to learn to differentiate between justifying their own narrow minded phobia with a belief system that on a fundamental level should teach tolerance. May his God find it equally abhorrent that he seems to feel that a healthy depiction of two relationship is the more offensive part of television shows that regularily degrade and put women in abusive situations.

*goes off to rant and rave for a few more hours*

As I said in my reply to [livejournal.com profile] shadesofbrixton's original post:

Not only is he trying to tell everyone that he thinks homosexuality is morally wrong, he is also justifying it with religion as if everyone is obviously a devout Christian. While I wholeheartedly disagree with him on the moral status of homosexuality, what actually angers me most in that email is his assumption that it must be wrong beacuse Christianity says so [whether that be true or not] and everyone must agree because Christianity is the 'one true religion'. Don't get me started on that.

You know, it takes a special kind of special to be so stupid to abuse YOUR OWN Privacy Statements by a) using the customers' data for things not related to order processing, and b) sending out unsolicited bullshit. Somehow I don't believe that people did not sign up on that newsletter to get the company owner's thoughts on yaoi homosexuality delivered to their mailboxes.

I also wouldn't be surprised if someone in America couldn't sue him for that. Just saying.

Also: *GROAAAR* Reading that just sent me into instant horns-and-tentacles mood. With fangs and claws added added as a bonus.

Adam and Steve? Is that dude caught in a 70s timeloop, or what? Can't the fundies come up with something new, so we have to actually use our brains to mock the hell out of them?

*argh* How did that double-negative sneak in there?

I meant:
