While I love the teamwork in that scene, please tell me that they didn't dial Atlantis directly? Because that would just be almost unforgiveably stupid.

And, heh, John's "going to check up" on Rodney? Aeeeeeeeeeeeeee! The slash, it writes itself.

I do NOT want to see the bad fanfic coming out of Rodney's comment on hideous and intimate torture. There will be a shitload of noncon fics now, all of those badfic authors drooling over how horribly they can torture and humiliate Rodney and I do NOT want to see them. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about it already.

John and Rodney equally protective of Elizabeth is lovely. She clearly is the weakest link in the chain, yes, but it's more than that. There's friendship there as well, and just that makes me happy. Furthermore, I adore that it seems that Rodney is even more protective of Elizabeth than John is, and what that says about him and their relationship. (I also feel validated about Fates.)

Hah. Hah! So the Ancients did create that nanovirus, well, at least by proxy. Damn it, I KNEW it!

That bickering about numbers? Goodness, they really do sound like an old married couple. (Can you imagine how that number-obsession is going to turn out in bed? "Give me a time-frame, Rodney!" "You want a time-frame for an orgasm?!")

John is looking over his shoulder. This fills me with so much glee.

And John's voice rough from shouting does odd, odd things to me.

Whoa, okay, on a more serious note? It's become quite obvious that whoever the Lantean team calls allies in the beginning, or offers help, gets really fucked over in the end. It was clear that the Ancients made mistakes with the Replicators, Elizabeth saw it with her own eyes. In the end, yes, it was a means of survival, but I find it hard to believe that they manage to offer help in one minute and then go from help to completely anihilating those whom they offered help.

They make more enemies than friends, and it is due to questionable decision-making. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I hate them for it, for in their situation, it seemed like the only thing to do. But still. In retrospect, they need to think about what the hell they're doing in this galaxy.

Speaking of the noncon, I just saw an insane post about how the Stargate writers were mocking Rodney's mental rape and that it wasn't funny. I only laughed because the only other reaction I could have was to cry. I guess we can expect an onslaught of really awful non-con fics.
Did they ever imagine that maybe Rodney's tortured entailed letting other people down, not being able to save his people with his brain, that seems more plausible than the rape scenario.

Exactly! Rodney saying that there was some sort of vague, horrible torture doesn't mean that he was actually put through some sort of horrible torture. My first thought that it was some sort of fairly mundane and embarrassing scenario, no doubt revolving around his superior intellect (and possibly John).

Good review. Pretty much my reactions. Although for me I loved the first half then it turned into the ELIZABETH SHOW too much for me. ALthough all the SHep stuff and the McShep stuff was great.

And WORD about the NONCON fics. PLEASE people, Don't go there. Technically they were ALL mindraped and Rodney seemed to fare the best of them. He wasn't angsting over it or anything so let it go. Do not write the badfic. I'll hate it even more than all the fic excusing Rodney taking the herb in IRRESISTIBLE and making John clean his room. Or feeling the need to Justify the lemon thing from the SG1 ep. ::Shudders::
