VALA!!!

Ahem. *g* I wouldn't mind Sam, either. Just, for the love of God, none of the guys.

I had been thinking Vala would be great, too, but Kat mentioned that she's such a strong character, she might outshine the others.

And Sam ... while I adore her, I think it would be a bad idea, because it would inevitably render Rodney the laughing stock of the show, and I don't want to see that. I don't trust the writers to write them as people who work together well.

Er, work together on a daily basis, I mean. Because usually they work quite well together, when they don't see each other in between planet-saving jobs.

She's already adding so much to SG-1, which admittedly I had no interest in before she came -- Claudia Black is amazing, with the screen presence and the expressiveness, I think. A lot like DH in some ways.

And yeah, you're right. The writers...ho-hum.

I don't know what to say...I really like SGA so far this season, and feel some of the existing characters (Ronon, Telya *cough*) are already under-utilized. I'm afraid adding more, even already established characters, will only worsen that issue, and also mess with the dynamic of the show.

On the other hand, I really like some of the SG-1 characters...I don't know. I'm ambivalent, and afraid of ruining SGA, or losing favorite characters from it to make room for SG-1 characters, which would not be ok with me.

My point exactly. We already know so little about Teyla and Ronon and Zelenka, heck, even Weir, so that dding new characters would just make sure that it would stay that way, or maybe even that one of them would have to go. And that can't be good for the show.
(Though I have secret fears that they'll kill Zelenka. *clutches him*)

SGA already has a pretty big cast, so I don't think this would be the most brilliant idea. It would only result in certain characters getting sidelined. However, I wouldn't object to the odd guest appearance of some of the SG-1 cast. How's that for a compromise?

*snuggles you*

It's an excellent compromise, and one I would actually like to see. (Not at all because I like the odd Sam appearance in SGA. Nu-uh.)
Speaking of seeing - do I see you in two weeks?

Thank you. The hug is very much appreciated right now. :)

And I'm so looking forward to seeing you in September!

Ah, you know my partiality to Vala. So I'd like to see Vala added (they could sideline Beckett and Weir and I wouldn't mind too much). And I adore Teal'c.

So those two could be added to SGA and I wouldn't mind a bit. But I don't want Sam, Cam, or Daniel anywhere near Atlantis as anything but guest stars. Not regulars, nope, no way. It would a disaster for the Atlantis team dynamic.

And, uhm, frankly, the scenarios to bring even Vala and Teal'c to Atlantis would be pretty drastic. Let SG-1 morph into something else: movies, a different show, let it get picked up by a different network, and let Atlantis refer to it as though it is still going on.

At least there won't be any more cross show continuity tangles.

Horrible idea and no Vala either, develop Teyla and Ronon more first, also they'd have to axe Zelenka and Lorne to keep the SG-1 guys and I don't want that at all. And, at this point, they can't afford the SG-1 guys so I can't see that happening.

Vala (guilty pleasure)!

Daniel -- only because he seemed the emotional/conscionable individual that tempered the military, which SG:A seems to be lacking, as of late.

You didn't have a ticky for "Hate it, Hate it, HATE IT!". *g*

I just read the news article, and I am not thrilled with the news. I guess I'm selfish, but I prefer Atlantis the way it is. I am very afraid that if one or more SG-1 characters become permanent parties on Atlantis, it will further dilute the screen time and character interactions of the Atlantis team. Teyla is barely getting screen time now. Not to mention the likelihood that my favorite recurring characters (Lorne! Zelenka!) will have less appearances as well.

I think SG-1 has had an amazing run. And I've been a fan of the characters since the beginning. But I don't want them on Atlantis, because I think it will "break" what that show has. And Atlantis deserves the time to stand on its own away from "big brother". I do not object to ocassional guest star appearances, because that seems a good way to continue the development of the SGC universe, but I don't even want those very often.

I'd like to keep Vala -- she'd be a great foil to, well, everyone and she fits in better with the band of misfits that populates Atlantis. I'd love to keep Cameron, too, but you know, that would give us two flyboys. Wait. How is that a bad thing?

Just... no Sam.

Bah humbug. They just want to come to Pegasus because that's where all the cool people hang.

*twitches*

Don't we have enough characters already? I'd not mind the occasional guest appearance because that is nothing new, but a permanent move? I am rather fond of who we have now and most of them are underused as it is. More people would just mean utter chaos. Well that and I am not overly fond of SG-1.

I am going to be good and answer this without looking at any of the comments first...

Daniel and Vala! While I have a soft spot for Cameron and Sam, John really doesn't need another Lt Col. to cramp his style, and Rodney certainly doesn't need Sam around. It would undermine his position as head of sciences.

But Daniel and Vala? Gimme! And Daniel really needs to go back to Atlantis anyway. He owes Elizabeth an Ascended, since he broke hers. *g*

I'd like to see Daniel and Vala as a recurring or guest characters, not regular ones. They have so much chemistry and make situations more interesting because of their dynamic. I'd like to see them popping up in Atlantis from time to time.

I can totally see Carter or Daniel, or maybe even cameron, going over to Atlantis, but only as guest stars that shop up a lot (like Zelenka!).
