re-posting with a proper link
Before I keel over and died last night,
murron's posted the story we seriously plotted and slaved over wrote after a phone call yesterday. 3800 words in under 5 hours. I haven't laughed this much in a long time.
Title: War of the roses
Authors:
eretria and
murron
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Disclaimer: Written for entertainment purposes, not profit.
Rating: PG-13
Category: pre-slash morphing into mild slash, humour
Word Count: 3.850
Spoilers: The Return, Part I & II (episode tag)
Characters: Rodney McKay, John Sheppard
Summary: After the events of Return II, John realises that some questions should better be left unasked.
He needed sleep. Sleep and the comfort of his own mattress, his own bed, his own mess around him.
“Yes, there, and that over there, and oh, you imbecile, will you be careful with that, that’s more valuable than --“
Rodney? Here? John groaned. Much as he liked Rodney, he really wasn’t in the mood now.
Not after the day he’d --
John stopped when he rounded the corner to his quarters. Blinked. Reached a shaking hand to brace himself against the wall. Scrubbed the other over his eyes. Pressed his eyes closed until he saw stars, then opened them again.
Still the same.
His stuff was lined up along the walls outside his quarters while several of the science team carried boxes into his rooms, zooming in, and coming back out with empty hands.
All the boxes were neatly labelled: Rodney M. McKay.
John tried to remember lunch and wondered if someone had managed to pick hallucinogenic mushrooms and put them in the stew.
Humour. And not a drop of angst.
Yes. We surprise ourselves, too. And expect our next stories to be loaded with angst.
