Sneaky gift
May. 1st, 2012 10:59 amYesterday it was about strange smells.
Today's LJ post is about strange but lovely occurances.
I had a card in my post box three days ago.
A mini card with my name on it. No stamp, no address, just my first name, so it must have been hand-delivered. Inside, the card said (in German): "Use for: Doesn't matter, just make it something nice." It wasn't signed, just had a smiley face underneath. And inside were 50 €.
The boyfriend denies that it's from him. The handwriting looks damn familiar. The only other friends who have been at my flat deny it's from them, and they really wouldn't have any reason to give me money, anyway.
But who on Earth would give me 50 € and not sign the card? And what for?
It's driving me up the wall. I need to know whom to thank!
Of course, right now and in the current financial situation, it's welcome as hell. And I have not given in to the urge to spend it on every day things. No, since
murron wanted to go to Ikea yesterday, I have bought myself a little hardwood mini-folding table there so I can sit in the garden and have my cup of tea and a book next to me. Okay, in reality, it's designed as a footrest, but it has the perfect height for a mini-table, and I'm declaring it a table, so there.
And no there's still some money eft for something else that'll be just for me.
I don't know whom to thank. I hope I'll find out eventually. Because this was the most welcome gift at exactly the right moment.
