Wow, guys, you remember the Wraith? And, does this mean we'll finally get a Teyla episode?

And, hey, this scientist guy is gonna bite the bullet pretty soon, isn't he? Just, just don't touch Zelenka. Don't you dare.

Ah, but ... does it really make sense to have Elizabeth down there? I mean, have something happen to that jumper and you have all your command staff dead, plus the best scientists. Huh.

Oh, John's pretty shirt is back!

"Just humour me and check again." And Rodney does without another word of complaint. Uh-huh.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanger, Will Robinson. Teyla is so very, very possessed by that Wraith now.

Oh, John. The Abyss. It's one of my all time favourite movies, and I bet you have the extended version, too, and geek out over how much better it is and, and, and ... oh, show, you make me happy.

Ow. I knew it. And, knowing how Teyla fights, she just did some real damage on Ronon. Ow. Poor boy.

Whoa. A queen, eh? God, those really are creepy. And I bet you anything, with Teyla off the stage, she'll do much more damage than with Teyla on the stage.

Uh-oh. Junior scientist with the name Rodney can't remember and whom he wouldn't have hired if he'd realised the mistake: You're just about to become the first red shirt in this episode. Sad. I liked you.

Oh, Elizabeth, really. If you leave Teyla alone now, she will link with the queen again, on her own, without supervision. Can't you see how determined she is?

God. I can't remember the last time I was so fucking creeped out by an episode. And what is worse, with the memory of Sunday, I don't think anyone of them is still safe.

Oh, JOhn, no. No, no, and NO.

Okay. Fuck. Ronon, FUCK. (And, yes, that was the exclamation just now, loud enough so that my landlords probably heard me one storey down.) How the HELL are they gonna get back up now?

You know, Elizabeth, one day your incredible arrogance will get you killed. And you know that I like you, but you're not invulnerable. Stop acting as if you were. For the sake of all of your friends and the people who trust in you.

Uhm, actually, guys? How do you know that human sedatives actually work on Wraith and she's not just faking it?

OMG, those suits are just unbelievably hilarious.

God, people, how abyssmally stupid are you? You can't possibly leave Teyla alone with the queen, not after teh determination she's been showing the entire time!

Oh, god, TEYLA, you brilliant, brilliant mind, you. Seriously, if this is the reason TPTB waited so long to give us a Teyla episode? Then, god, was it ever worth the wait.

Okay, so ANYONE who EVER makes a joke about Rodney not being able to shoot needs to be whacked across the head hard. HARD.

Hands up: Who else thinks that she's not dead?

Aw. This is sweet. Rodney and Elizabeth get to geek off and Ronon, Teyla and John take a nap. D'awwww.

re the sedatives:

They've had their hands on wraith on and off for a while. I buy they know what would knock 'em out.

Well, I'd like to agree to disagree, especially since they're only on a jumper, and according to 38 minutes the heaviest in painkilles/sedatives those carry is Tylenol.
Where did the IV drip come from? That certainly isn't jumper standard. And they really had no reason to take enough Wraith-specific sedatives to kill two Wraith down there so they could sedate a queen.

Well first of all, this looked like something slightly longer term than just a trip, they possibly packed differently and maybe they've changed their medkits since then. Considering they should be field ready, that early episode looked like a basic oversight.

basically. Logically, they WOULD have that with them, along with a field medic. I know details.

Within canon, I think all things considered, what they carry has probably changed.

Even with a regular kit and a new and improved kit and a field medic, it wasn't a long enough trip to warrant an IV drip with such massive doses of sedatives. You did see the drip, right? That was enough to put an elephant to sleep. Not really sense-making for a bunch of scientists and soldiers.

As I said: Agree to disagree.

I bet Sheppard and Ronon were double-checking the jumper and Ronon was asking (because he's worse than Sheppard about paying attention to pre-mission briefings when he's not going to a planet he can shoot things on) what they were doing again, and Sheppard told him, "babysitting a bunch of scientists."

"Scientists. Like having lots of McKays? In this tiny jumper?"

"...Right. More sedatives."

I ask myself that every time she joins them on missions.

And the final scene was adorable!

I guess they figured that since they were still on the planet, Elizabeth wouldn't be in any more or less danger than she would be in the city itself.

(And this was the perfect way to avoid her Sunday stalker.)
