I'm actually making my way through the new episode live now that I have the chance, being across the ocean and all that. But, man, those commercials are annoying. (And, actually, so is this new Flash Gordon.)

As-I-Watch:

Whoo, Teyla. Nice coat. I mean, NICE.
Though that music ... doesn't bode well. It's the standard "backwater planet with stupid people" music. Used in The Tower and Irresistible, I think. Not good.

Though, whoa, Teyla. Baby. I only wished they'd actually let you stand your ground without help.

RODNEY JACKET. OMG. That is way, way, way too hot.
And, hm. Doesn't seem too happy about the news, does he? Then again, I really don't think he'd have been happy in the position. He'll realise that sooner or later. But I love the fact that he wants to make people proud.

I like Sam's hair. No, really. And I like that she's not running over to Atlantis, all power-hungry. There is hesitancy, she even seems a little scared, and she's sad about leaving Earth and her team and I really, really like that.

Oh, thank God. They didn't make the arrival a buffoon moment for Rodney. And do John and Sam have chemistry or what?

OMG fruit-basket the THREESOME is already starting. :o)

Good standing of ground with Ronon, Sam. And I bet you anything the Sam-haters loved that moment. But I really think it was a good moment because it set boundaries, and because she didn't back down.

Ronon's "My people" when talking about the Lanteans is very telling.

Oh, I really, really like the chemistry between John and Sam. That'll be interesting to watch progress. Because while she doesn't allow him to go after Elizabeth (and rightfully so), she also doesn't blow him off completely, and John, being John, will appreciate that a lot.

(Oh. You can see that RL was pregnant in those gym scenes.) Way to beat up Ronon, dear.

TEYLA MENTIONS THE ATHOSIANS; OMG!! They're not forgoten, and we actually get some background on Teyla, emotional background, at least.

Heed your own words on the "You're just one man, you can't save everyone" thing, John. Just for a moment there.

*gibber* JACKETS.

Great job, Ronon. Kill John right on the spot. (And, come on, he's not. You can tell that he's not. But you can also tell that JOhn's going to do something stupid to get Ronon to stop. Oh you people with you wonderful loyalties.)

Ouch, Sam. I kind of don't doubt that you'd actually do it. Another very interesting chemistry there.

Those jackets will be the end of me. Good heavens.

Since when are Wraith so easy to kill?

This is a bit like the child wanting to step away from the father figure, isn't it, Ronon's farewell look on the Wraith ship?

Wow, John. That's a first there, leaving the people in the cocoons. For Teyla, too. I mean, correct decision, but a first. He's learned. They both have.

(Why is Teyla always the first to go down?)

JOHN!!!!!!!!! (Please don't make him kneel again? It's getting old.)

Rodney, where did you go?

Oh, baby, I'm proud of you - er, WHAT? Are they Wraith worshippers? There had to be something fishy about them to get Ronon back, but, really. I hadn't seen that one coming.

John grunts with the best when waking up, doesn't he?

HEY; DON'T TAKE RODNEY!!!!!! Ouch, oh, oh, that's a first, don't take him! DON'T HURT HIM!

Elizabeth? I really thought the test subject would be her. Thank god.

And, I still love Sam. A lot. Even though it's not really sensible to take her offworld after she just arrived ad she might as well be killed on this mission.

Why isn't the jumper cloaked?

THEY TOOK RADEK! AND HE'S ALL COMPETENT AND NOT AFRAID! (Don't kill him, please?)

And John to Rodney's rescue. Mmmh. Just the way it's supposed to be.

Looks like the replicator dude isn't really interested in the humans, huh?

Auburn, you were so, so, so right with the story you wrote two years ago about the worshippers. You're amazing.

Look, ah, guys and, ah, Ronon, don't you have better things to do?

Heavens. This really is painful to watch.

"Where are your friends?" "They're right here. Let's go home." Oh, Ronon. Oh, oh, Ronon.

Rodneys like a magpie - taking pictures! But, actually, I love the fact that he took the picture, because it means that he cares about Ronon and wanted to keep something from him in case he really did leave. I do love it when they're being subtle.

So, yes. Overall: Love for Sam (see, I told you she wouldn't just take over and behave like she owns the place), love for Ronon, always love for John and Rodney, sad that Teyla didn't have more to do but at least what she got to do made sense (and it makes sense to use RL less when she's so obviously pregnant), and so much relief that there was no buffoonery about Rodney with Sam. The bit there was was non-painful and very Rodney.

Apart from that: was anyone else expecting a kitchen to open up behind the Iron Chef guy? Not just me, then? Okay.
