Well. Not bad, but not the best one, either.

I did like it, but I wouldn't pay money to see it again in the cinema.

The "Story by George Lucas " scared me half to death. It was a bit absurd in the end starting with the car-chase/big fight scene, and I didn't much care for the alien plot, but with Lucas writing, it was far less painful than I had expected.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Raise your hand if you had a geekish squeak moment, there, too. And were very happy. And grinned like a loon. And probably high-fived your fellow geek right next to you.

I already blame Indiana Jones II for my bug-phobia. Now we can add a termite phobia, too, I think. SO MANY. And the SOUNDS. Good gah. I spent all of those scenes with my hands in front of my face, or hiding my face in Felix' shoulder.

I was pretty happy with the fact that Indy's snake phobia surfaced again. And that he would rather get swallowed by mud / quicksand than touch a snake. (Which, by the way: Poor snake.)

But, boy, am I glad that we saw Mary again. I loved their chemistry in the first movie already, because she is tough and still can show emotions, but never is the damsel in distress. So, yeah. Very happy with her return.
(Return!)

Cate Blanchett. Was so adorable in the first scenes when she kept slipping between her regular accent and the Russian one.

Several questions:

If the coffin was that highly magnetised, how come the weapons of the Russians didn't stick to it? And the knife she used to cut the suit-thingie?

How did Indy not die of radiation poisoning?

How do they have digital countdown displays in the late fifties, early sixties?

Who else loved Oxley?

Who else thought or said aloud that maybe the Aliens were Goa'uld and were about to leave earth in their flying pyramid?

Under the hair, Irina Spelko had elf-ears. y/n?

I'm trying to NOT read your comments. (Okay, I read the first two sentences.) I'm going to see the movie but not on opening weekend because I'll be on the road. Rolling, rolling, rolling...

Mom saw it today too, and she really liked it.

Oh--forgot to ask about the music! How did John Williams deliver this time? Did they re-use some musical tag lines (like the Marion-Indy romance theme I hope, and of course the main IJ theme music)? Did he write a 'Russian' sounding theme for the bad guys?
