Why am I still trying to fanwank this?

So, unless Lenkov conveniently forgot that Rachel and Stan went to Maui to work on their marriage, then that would mean Rachel and Danny only started sleeping together AFTER the Sarin incident, and then how much time does that put between episodes 23 and 24? What, maybe two week? So, if Rachel really is pregnant, then how the hell does she know already? Okay, pregnancy test, granted. But why did she make a test? And most of all, how does she know it's Danny's? I would assume that on Maui, there was some attempt at sleeping with the husband she wanted to salvage the marriage with?

Work with me here, flist? Am I seeing things?

My interpretation (personal canon) is that Rachel and Danny got drunk and weepy and stupid and had unprotected sex the night Matty bolted (what, about two months ago?). Then they pretended it didn't happen, Rachel began trying to make the marriage with Stan work (and feeling guilty probably didn't help) and if she and Stan were having sex at that point, she was using contraception, because if your marriage is rocky the last thing you want is to complicate it with a child. The Sarin incident brought her back to Danny and they slept together again after that and she made the decision about her marriage as a result, possibly triggered by realizing she was pregnant and it couldn't be Stan's.

The frantic need to get Danny and get back Jersey might be a result of Stan throwing her out after he figures out she's been unfaithful too. I don't actually believe Rachel has a job in Hawaii. Sure, she could move in with Danny -- in his tiny apartment, that'd be cozy. Not. -- but if they don't want to confuse Grace worse while they work things out, going to Jersey and 'visiting' the grandparents isn't a bad idea. She might have a job waiting there too and possibly still owns the house from Danny in the divorce. Living costs are cheaper on the mainland.

Anyway, we're all in training for the Fanwank Olympics after that finale.
