This episode should also be known as "Why we have heard John laugh only once in two and a half seasons, and why it's probably for a good reason".

Because, seriously? That laugh is so dirty and dorky, it's no wonder he doesn't let others hear it very often. Now, don't get me wrong, I am endlessly amused by it, especially by that little sigh he ends with in the last scene, but, seriously? Anyone who has ever heard John laugh? Will never take him serious ever again. (Also, John's laugh is curiously deeper than his regular speaking voice. Which is very interesting. And, uhm, somebody note the little grunts and hums he's giving in this episode? Well, if that's not an inspiration for writing, I don't know what is.)

Uhm, same with Ronon's laugh, actually. Who kinda sounds like an elk in heat.

Why, yes. Kat and me have been laughing ever since we saw the episode. :o)

And, on a more serious note? The team reassuring Rodney that they like him better than the alternative version? Oh, yeah. The heart goes pitter-patter, and I love the writers so very, very much right now. And let's not even start on the goodbye-hug. I ... I just ... *melts*

On the most fanish glee note: Fates got so damn validated. I think there were several moments in which I sat there, saying: We already wrote that. And that And - hah! - that, too.

OMG, it's the dirtiest laugh ever, isn't it? I remember listening the commentary to "The Rising" and even though JF was kind of serious and uncomfortable, once he broke out with that laugh I couldn't believe it. It's such a dopy laugh, yet dirty at the same time.

I think someone over on trinityofone's post about his laugh said it sounded like a dying llama, and that? Cracked me up even further. But I love his laugh! I really do! *GGG* As for the deeper laugh, he does sound rather hoarse this episode, so maybe that affected it a little too?

And Ronon's 'ah ho ho ho' is just... similarly giggle inducing.

The first time he laughed out loud and said "Hey, Meredith", I thought that he was drunk. John definitely sounded drunk - well, tipsy - in those lines. And that would have been even cuter.

Ronon is almost worse than John. John's at least is dirty and dorky, Ronon's is just completely embarrassing, in that giggle-snort-inducing way. And it's so impossible to imitate without completely cracking up. :oD

Ok so I was just laughing at how fake all their laughing sounded during those scenes rather than the individual laughs. Which may explain a little the depth of his laugh, it might go up in pitch a tad if it wasn't in such a stilted environment. Not that it would be any less of a ... laugh for it.

What amuses me is he is so 'mumblemumble' speaking, but the laugh is so loud and clear ... total juxtaposition.

I actually really liked John's laugh - in that, "oh my god, I'm so embarrassed for you, please don't stop" kind of way. The dork side has never been closer. :o)

Oh I lke his laugh and I think it'd sound less weird if it wasn't so disembodied. I get the feeling his body language would explain the laugh and fit more together ... also love how 'Meredith' came out - scratchy, dorky and deep.

Crap I just ove them all with abandon.
